How to Apply SeepGuard Horizontal:

Surface Preparation

  • Remove all the loosely adhering material like, dirt, dust, organic solvent (de-shuttering/curing free compound) & oil etc. from the surface by using emery paper, chisel or wire brush etc.
  • In case of efflorescence, surface should be cleaned thoroughly to remove all loose particles from the surface.
  • Wash the surface properly with clean water & allow the surface to dry completely before application of the product Surface cracks must be filled (<3mm) by crack filler products & bigger cracks, damaged portion and hollow areas must be repaired by Birla White Levelplast (polymer cement modified mortar product).

Mixing

  • Slowly add 1 kg of the product with 100% clean water (1 Kg of the product + 1000 ml water) to make slurry.
  • Leave the slurry for 5 minutes after thorough mixing to get best performance. Prepared slurry should be used within 1-1.5 hours.
  • After thorough mixing apply priming coat on the clean & dry wall/substrate surface uniformly with the help of painting brush. 

1st and 2nd Coat

  • Slowly add 1 kg of the product with 60-65% clean water (1 Kg of the product + 600-650 ml water) to make slurry.
  • Mixing should be carried out preferably by a mechanical stirrer (3-5 minutes).
  • After thoroughly mixing, apply two coats of the product in a crosswise direction at 4–6 hour intervals for better adhesion and coverage.
  • For best performance on terrace, ensure that the product is applied on the entire roof including parapet wall.
  • The total thickness of both the coats should be limited to maximum 1.5 mm.
