Congratulations on completing your research and concluding that Birla White WallCare Putty is the best wall putty for your home. Great! So, most of your job is done. Now the only thing remaining is to apply Birla White WallCare Putty on your walls.

Now that you already know every quality of Birla White WallCare Putty like it’s ultimate whiteness, water-resistant HP polymers, smooth finish, and it’s waterproof nature, let’s learn more about its super easy application process.

Unlike other putties, Birla White WallCare Putty can be applied on your walls in these five easy steps.

Wall preparation - Before applying Birla White WallCare Putty, you should remove all loosely adhering material from the wall surface. You can take help of objects like sandpaper, putty blade or wire brush. The walls should be clean, and free from dust, grease & materials. You should also moisten the wall with lots of clean water.

Mixing - Birla White WallCare Putty should be mixed slowly with 36-38% clean water to make a paste. It’s very important that water is added in this cement putty to make the mix and not vice versa. It should be mixed for at least 10-15 minutes until a uniform paste is formed. We will also advise you to use a mechanical mixer to thoroughly mix the WallCare Putty, making the paste free from lumps.

This will help in easing the application process of this waterproof wall putty. The mixing process makes the White Cement Putty obtain a smooth uniform shade. You should only prepare a quantity which can be used within 2-3 hours of mixing with water.

Application - Before starting the application of this putty, it’s very important and essential that the surface is wet thoroughly. This process is often referred to as Pre-Wetting. It ensures higher bonding strength, easy workability and higher coverage of the surface.

After the pre-wetting, apply the first coat of thoroughly mixed Birla White WallCare Putty on the moistened wall surface from bottom to upward direction uniformly with the aid of putty blade. This would ensure minimum wastage and proper finish.

After the first coat of White Cement based Putty is dry, rub the surface gently with a wet sponge, a putty blade, or a waterproof emery paper in order to remove loose particles.

Second coat - Allow the surface to dry for at least three hours and then apply the second coat of Birla White WallCare Putty. After the second coat, leave the surface to dry completely. After the second coat has dried, remove any type of marks with the help of a moist sponge or rub the surface very gently with a waterproof emery paper of not less than 500.

We recommend you not to rub the surface done with Birla White WallCare Putty harshly with a rough emery paper as it breaks the film formed over it, which decreases its water-resistant properties.

Dry it off - In the last step, you should leave the surface to dry for minimum of 10-12 hours, preferably overnight. This will get your wall surface ready for the paint to be applied on it and will give time to Birla White WallCare Putty to set the perfect base coat for your walls. You don’t have to apply primer after applying Birla White WallCare Putty because its qualities make it strong enough to work as both, a putty and a primer.
